Ningbo Symposium on the Planning and Construction of Intelligent ICV Engineering held

In order to further study and plan the development ideas for the Internet Connected Vehicle, the Ningbo Symposium on the Planning and Construction of Intelligent ICV Engineering was held in the afternoon of June 4 in the Hangzhou Bay Geely Automobile Research Institute. Chen Bingrong, Deputy Mayor of the Ningbo City, attended the symposium and delivered a speech. Present at the symposium, there were leaders from the Ningbo Municipal Development & Reform Commission, Ningbo Municipal Economic and Information Technology Bureau, Ningbo Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Ningbo Housing & Urban-rural Development Bureau, Ningbo Transportation Bureau, Ningbo Public Security Bureau, and the Administrative Committee of the Hangzhou Bay New Zone, representatives of Ningbo Branch China Telecom, Ningbo Branch China Mobile, Ningbo Branch China Unicom, SAIC Volkswagen, Geely Auto, Ningbo Automobile Testing Center, Joyson Electronics, Sunny Optical, Huawei Ningbo Branch, etc..

At the symposium, the preparation, development objectives, key areas and tasks of the Action Plan for the Development of Ningbo Intelligent Internet Connected Vehicle Industry (2020-2022) (Draft for Discussion) were introduced by the Ningbo Municipal Economic and Information Technology Bureau; the Ningbo Housing & Urban-rural Development Bureau introduced the promotion of infrastructure and mechanism construction for smart cars in Ningbo. Dr. Chen Yusen, President of the Jingweitong Intelligent Transportation Research Institute, shared the latest development of a new generation of intelligent transportation-vehicle-road coordinative technology; Geely Auto Research Institute introduced the latest research, development and test of the intelligent internet connected vehicle. Attendees had in-depth exchanges on the construction of intelligent internet connected vehicle industrial ecology, the promotion of infrastructure construction, the establishment of automobile safety monitoring system, and the acceleration of vehicle-road collaborative scene application.

Deputy Mayor Chen Bingrong pointed out that this symposium is not only an on-site promotion meeting for the development of the intelligent internet connected vehicle industry, but also the future engineering construction planning meeting. Ningbo should give full play to the advantages of automobile industry cluster and information technological foundation, accelerate the ecological construction of intelligent internet connected vehicles, and strive to build Ningbo into a national leading area and industrial demonstration area of intelligent internet connected vehicles. Deputy Mayor Chen emphasized that firstly we need to strengthen the top-level design, further improve the action plan, establish a joint working meeting system, set up an expert committee, study new infrastructure supporting policies, and improve specific measures from manufacturing to application demonstration. Secondly, we should strengthen innovation demonstration, build innovation platform, sort out the list of technological innovation chain, industrial chain and application scenarios, establish key project databases, cultivate and introduce innovative talent teams, deepen the construction of urban smart car infrastructure, and orderly promote the application scenarios of smart cars and smart travelling. Thirdly, we need to deepen researches, accelerate research on business models, resource sharing mechanisms, and coordinative working mechanisms, and realize data interconnection and exert joint efforts of the government, enterprises, research institutes and capital for a favorable environment for development. Fourthly, we should focus on the industrial development, lead the industry with innovation and boost the industry with applications, and accelerate the development and expansion of industries such as artificial intelligence, automotive chips and software, information communication, intelligent application terminals, inspection and testing, and post-services.

Before the symposium, attendees paid a visit to the exhibition hall of the Geely Auto Research Institute and learnt the development of the 5G industrial internet.
