A Match-Making Meeting on the Promotion and Application of Domestic High-End Die Steel held by the Ningbo Municipal Economic and Information Technology Bureau

In order to promote the development, application and promotion of domestic high-end die steel and help with the cultivation and development of high-end mould industry chain in the city, a Match-Making Meeting on the Promotion and Application of Domestic High-End Die Steel was held by the Ningbo Municipal Economic and Information Technology Bureau on November 17. Chen Chenghai, a member of the Party Group and Counsel Level II of the Ningbo Municipal Economic and Information Technology Bureau, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

At the meeting, the Zhongte Tailai Mould Technology Co., Ltd. introduced technical breakthrough and material development of high-end hot-working die steel and released 7 high-end die steel materials such as the hot-working die steel of CT-H13H. The Ningbo Brach, China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd. introduced new material insurance policies, and put forward some ideas on the innovation of insurance products for the popularization and application of domestic die steel. The persons in charge of mould enterprises attending the meeting said that they pay close attention to the development and industrialization of domestic high-end die steel and hope to strengthen communication and exchanges with Zhongte Tailai and other enterprises and improve the degree of cooperation.

Chen Chenghai fully acknowledged the solution that had been worked out by Zhongte Tailai for solving the key problem faced by high-end hot-working die steel. It’s wished that Zhongte Tailai would make full use of innovative resources of two major shareholders of the CITIC Pacific Special Steel Group Co., Ltd. and the Tailai Group, take root in Ningbo, and further strengthen collaborative innovation and industrial chain support with local key mould enterprises on the aspects of R&D and industrialization of high-end die steel. At the same time, it’s hoped that mould enterprises in the city will actively apply domestic high-end die steel, reduce excessive dependence on foreign imports, and contribute to the industrialization of high-end die steel in the country.

It’s pointed out by Chen Chenghai that the mould is the “mother of industries” and a major basic product for high-quality development of the manufacturing industry. Ningbo, known as “China’s Mould Capital”, is an important mould production base in China. The scale of the mould industry in Ningbo accounts for about 21% of that of the country. Moreover, Ningbo boasts a complete range of mould products. The market share of die-casting mould, casting mould, plastic mould, powder metallurgy mould and other products is in a leading position. They have been widely used in automobiles, household appliances, intelligent equipment, high-speed rail, aerospace, electronic information and many other industries. Ningbo provides supporting supplies for most well-known brands at home and abroad.

It’s stressed by Chen Chenghai that compared with foreign countries, there is still a certain gap in mould design, basic material R&D, processing and testing equipment manufacturing, mould inspection and testing analysis, etc.. At present, the high-end mould industry chain is one of the top 10 landmark industry chains under cultivation in our city, therefore, we need to earnestly implement various tasks in accordance with the requirements of the cultivation plan, focus on the pain points and difficult problems faced by enterprises and actively hold promotion and application matchmaking meetings.
