Fan Shujian, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department of MIIT, inspects the Zhejiang Graphene Innovation Center

Lately, Fan Shujian, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China and Counsel Level I, paid a visit to Ningbo to inspect the Zhejiang Graphene Innovation Center. Fan was accompanied by Chen Bingrong, Deputy Mayor of the Ningbo City, Hu Wangrong, Vice Secretary General of the Ningbo Municipal People’s Government, Zhang Shifang, Director of the Ningbo Municipal Economic and Information Technology Bureau, and Huang Zhengren, Director of the Ningbo Institute for Materials Technology & Engineering, CAS.

Fan Shujian and his delegation visited exhibition hall of the Zhejiang Graphene Innovation Center, learning in detail R&D achievements and industrial applications of the innovation center in fields of new energy, power battery, marine anti-corrosion, composite materials, energy conservation and environmental protection, electronic information, etc., and investigating projects of graphene electrothermal film, lithium rich manganese-based cathode materials, etc. under incubation. Liu Zhaoping, a researcher and the person in charge of the center made a report on the work that had been done for the construction of the Zhejiang Graphene Innovation Center.

Fan Shujian acknowledged the achievements that had been made by the center and pointed out that it is necessary to focus on major national strategic needs, the “14^th Five-year Plan” and long-term goals of Year 2035, to gather resources, and to make full use of graphene. On the aspect of manufacturing equipment and technologies, it is a must to focus on the industrial pain points, continue to promote the development of equipment for graphene manufacturing, and truly realize the green, low-cost, large-scale and intelligent production of graphene. He wished that the Zhejiang Graphene Innovation Center would further integrate all forces, improve the working mechanism, and strive to upgrade itself into a national manufacturing innovation center as soon as possible.

Fan Shujian and his delegation also inspected the Zhejiang Electric Drive Innovation Center under construction.
