Ningbo participates in the 17th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair, focusing on the theme of “outstanding” and displaying the elegance of “little giants” in Ningbo

On September 16, the 17^th China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair opened in Guangzhou. Liu He, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice-Premier of the State Council, made a speech, pointing out that small and medium enterprises should have great ambition, vigorously carry forward entrepreneurship spirit, attach great importance to the cultivation of innovation ability, and strive to be outstanding.

The fair is hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province with the theme of “strengthening cooperation and expanding exchanges for mutual benefit and a win-win situation and for further development hand in hand”. The First SME International Summit Forum was also held during the fair. Up to about 1,000 outstanding “little giant” enterprises and provincial outstanding enterprises, accounting for 80% of the total number of exhibitors, exhibited at the fair.

Focusing on the theme of outstanding and in order to fully display the elegance of “little giants” in Ningbo, an exhibitors’ group of the largest scale ever was sent to participate in the fair. The economic and information technology bureaus of Yinzhou, Beilun and Cixi participated in the organization. 5 national outstanding “little giant” enterprises and 3 outstanding SME public service demonstration platforms exhibited at the “outstanding” exhibition area and “innovative service” exhibition area on behalf of Ningbo.

In this fair, Ningbo further innovated the exhibition form, enriched the exhibition content and highlighted the elegance of Ningbo. The revelations of more than 10 “little giant” enterprises recorded by the Ningbo TV Station were broadcasted on the big screen, attracting many passers-by to stop and watch. The theme of “identifying the direction and standing unswervingly” is a true portrayal of Ningbo’s guidance provided for small and medium-sized enterprises to unswervingly take the road for being outstanding, which was quite impressing on the scene.

During the fair, Xu Xiaolan, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, visited the “outstanding” exhibition area of Ningbo. Gu Xia, Deputy Director of the Ningbo Municipal Economic and Information Technology Bureau, introduced the cultivation of “little giant” enterprises in Ningbo and the construction of the public service system for outstanding SMEs.

Other leaders, including Liang Zhifeng, Director of the SME bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, Ye Dingda, Counsel Level I of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, and Lian Li, Counsel Level II of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, paid a visit to the two exhibition areas of Ningbo and provided guidance onsite. At the innovative service exhibition area, Director Liang Zhifeng listened with great interest to the introduction of Ningbo Equity Trading Center, one of the public service platforms for small and medium-sized outstanding enterprises in Ningbo, on carrying out the listing and financing services for “little giant” enterprises, and acknowledged the construction of the service system for small and medium-sized outstanding enterprises in Ningbo.

Up till now, Ningbo boasts 182 outstanding “little giant” enterprises, ranking the third among all cities in China and the first among all municipalities not directly under the central government. Focusing on the improvement of enterprises’ innovation ability, 10 outstanding public service demonstration platforms for small and medium-sized enterprises are providing services such as listing and financing guidance, transformation of innovation achievements, digital transformation, cultivation of high-end talents, typical publicity of outstanding enterprises, legal consultation, policy guidance and resource exchanges, and providing all-round services to guide small and medium-sized enterprises in the city to become professional, fine, characteristic and innovative ones. For the next step, Ningbo will study to formulate a plan for the growth of outstanding “little giant” enterprises, continue to exert accurate efforts, cultivate more high-quality outstanding SMEs, and boost the high-quality development of the manufacturing industry in Ningbo.
