The Geely Innovation Center in Zhejiang province and Honeywell have teamed up to advance green methanol technology, aiming to address global carbon emissions and energy challenges through sustainable solutions.
Located in Qianwan New Area, Ningbo, the Geely Innovation Center has long been focused on developing innovative technologies for carbon capture and green energy. In its latest partnership with Honeywell, a global leader in technology, the two companies will collaborate on several cutting-edge projects involving carbon capture, green hydrogen coupling, e-methanol production, and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) technologies. This agreement leverages the strengths of both companies to contribute to the global energy transition.
Geely's efforts in green methanol innovation have already yielded impressive results with the development of a new generation of proprietary carbon dioxide hydrogenation technology. This breakthrough has significantly enhanced the catalytic activity and selectivity of methanol production while also extending catalyst lifespan - further improving efficiency and sustainability.
Honeywell is in the process of certifying Geely's methanol catalyst technology, and both companies plan to jointly promote the e-methanol synthesis technology worldwide. Their collaboration is expected to drive energy transformation not just in China, but across the globe.
As one of Zhejiang's first technological innovation centers, the Geely Innovation Center focuses on critical sectors like smart driving, green energy, and advanced components. The center's research spans key areas such as automotive chips, intelligent algorithms, solid-state batteries, and green methanol.
The center, consisting of over 350 technical experts, collaborates with top universities like Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University on numerous research initiatives.
