Igniting the open source "spark", Ningbo collaborates with CSDN to create high-energy level urban communities

In order to implement the national software development strategy, accelerate the cultivation and growth of our city's open source ecosystem, and ignite the open source "spark" in our city, on December 22, the Ningbo Open Source "Spark" Project Release & OpenNB Community Construction Exchanging Seminar were held at the Yongshuiqiao Science and Technology Innovation Center. This event was organized by the Chinese Software Developer Network (CSDN for short), a domestic open source organization, and attracted more than 150 guests including open source technology experts, developers, enterprise representatives, and college and university teachers and students and so on from both in and out of the city.

Open source technology has become an important force in promoting innovative development of the digital economy. As an important highland of the digital economy in China, Ningbo has been committed to building an open, collaborative, and innovative open source ecosystem. The release of the Open Source Spark project is another important measure taken by Ningbo to actively respond to the national innovation-driven development strategy, to promote open source technological innovation and industrial development. The Ningbo Open Source Special Committee & Open Source Ningbo (OpenNB) Community Construction Working Group was established at the event, sounding the horn for creating an open source main battlefield for developers in our city to collide and exchange ideas, share dynamic industrial resources, and promote the continuous development of incubation projects. At the same time, the EDA Open Source Toolkit, the first open source "spark" project in the city, was released, and EDA SIG, the city's first open source special interest group, was established. The initiator of the project, Professor Chu Zhufei from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Ningbo University, and DeToolIC, the representative of the SIG group, shared their insights on EDA open source projects in terms of background, innovation, and trends, etc., so as to ignite the "spark" of open source in our city.

Experts from open source communities in Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou, etc. provided open source ideas and implementation experience to the attendees from the perspectives of how open source can enhance individual developer competitiveness, how enterprises can implement open source operations, and how AI open source can empower industries and so on. They said that the construction of open source communities requires joint efforts from various parties such as the government, enterprises, and developers and so on. The government should strengthen policy support and financial investment for the development of open source technology; enterprises should actively participate in the research and development and promotion of open source projects; developers should continuously improve their technical level and innovation ability to jointly promote the prosperity and development of open source communities. The successful holding of this event not only injects new vitality into the innovation of open source technology and industrial development in Ningbo and the country as a whole, but also provides strong support for promoting the high-quality development of the digital economy. In the future, Ningbo will continue to uphold the concept of openness, collaboration, and innovation, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with domestic and foreign open source communities, and jointly create a more prosperous, healthier, and sustainable open source ecosystem.
